What is Keyword Density? Keyword Density refers to the number of times a particular keyword or keyword phrase is repeated in the article.

We recommend you use each keyword or keyword phrase once every 100 words. This is a keyword density of 1%. You can experiment with a density as high as 1.5% but any more than that and you will likely be accused of keyword stuffing (using a keyword several times in order to attract search engines), a process that will get your article rejected by most directories.

When you're checking your articles, be sure to read them out loud and watch for words you weren't aware you were using more than 1%. For example, if you are writing an article about skin care, even if your keyword phrase is 'anti-wrinkle cream', you may accidentally use the word 'skin' ten or more times! Check for common words like that that may also cause your article to be rejected.

Remember, if you haven't reached Platinum Status yet, make sure all your articles are under 1% as that is one of the most common reasons people don't make it to platinum in the first 10 articles.
