One of the most common things we hear from students who are struggling is that they ‘can’t.’ Can’t compete with other writers, can’t write more than one article a day, can’t get over writer’s block, can’t make the time to execute the program.
But article writing, like all writing, demands that you push past the excuses and fearlessly carve your niche in the marketplace. Our most successful students ignore the fears and push through. They get busy ‘doing’ and don’t allow time for worrying. They understand that the law of physics say it’s easier to keep something moving in motion, then it is to start something moving from scratch, so they put the majority of their effort into getting the motion started and know that it only gets easier after the first couple of weeks.
Renowned marketer Seth Godin recently blogged about the source of the fear and excuses, the Lizard Brain. Although Seth wasn’t commenting directly on article writing, the parallels are striking. Check out Quieting The Lizard Brain if you need a little push to get through the toughest part of the new program.
A few thoughts to end on. As Dan always says, “Whether you think that you can, or that you can’t, you are usually right.” (Henry Ford)
And my favorite quote that applies to article writing and really all of life: “You can only coast in one direction.”
What motivates you to quiet the lizard brain?

Good stuff! I’m a big fan of Seth Godin myself, so I’m glad to see that you are as well. When I’ve helped people get good at article marketing, the biggest thing has been helping people overcome mental blocks and helping them realize that they CAN write tons of articles each day. Sometimes all it takes is someone to step up and lead the way
What motivates me? Probably the passive income, but also helping people improve their life by promoting great products. And lately, helping people increase the financial freedom in their lives!
“If life were measured by accomplishments, most of us would die in infancy.”
This is what inspires me a lot. Noone said it would be easy and most people want it to be. I would too, however I realize the the road to success is filled with obstacles you have to know how to overcome them and keep going.
Writing is fun for me, sometimes, however most of the times I can write a skin care article in 10-15 minutes. Because I know the product very well and have learnt a lot about taking care of the skin. After you have written a certain number of articles, you tend to be able to write faster.
The cholesterol product is very interesting for me as I have high cholesterol, or so the doctor says. I have never taken any medication he prescribed for me and will be trying the Xtend life cholesterol suppemlent soon.
However you must develop an interest in a product if you are going to promote it long, term that is the only way it will become less of a chore and more fun.
